www.bcfarmersmarket.org – The BC Association of Farmers’ Markets lists and describes farmers’ markets throughout the province.

www.bcfarmfresh.com – As a guide to farms and farm fresh products in the Fraser Valley , this website includes a farm directory and map showing the farm locations.  

www.biodynamics.com – The Bio-dynamic Farming and Gardening Association works to foster, guide and safeguard the Bio-dynamic method of agriculture, “an organic method of agriculture seeking to actively work with the health-giving forces of nature”.  This site gives information about Bio-dynamics, a directory of regional Bio-dynamic groups in North America and a calendar of their events.

www.certifiedorganic.bc.ca – The Certified Organic Associations of British Columbia administers BC’s organic certification program.  Their site contains certification information and standards for BC, a directory of the 14 certifying bodies in the province and their member farms, and access to a listserve which serves as an internet based forum on organic agriculture and related subjects.  

www.cog.ca – “Canadian Organic Growers is a national information network for organic farmers, gardeners and consumers”.  Their website includes a Canadian organic directory, information on conferences they organise and their seasonal magazine, and an organic discussion forum.

www.demeter-usa.org  - Demeter is the certifying body for Bio-dynamic agriculture.  Their site includes their certification standards, information about Bio-dynamics and a directory of certified farmers and processors in North America .

www.earthsave.org – Earthsave International publishes “information promoting food choices that are healthy for people and the planet”.  This site has articles on food and health, food and social ethics, and vegetarianism.

 www.ffcf.bc.ca Vancouver based, Farm Folk/ City Folk Society “promotes eating local, fresh and seasonal foods grown using farming practices that contribute to the health of the planet”.  Their site includes information about their projects and how to get involved, events they sponsor and food democracy-related news in BC.

www.freshfromtheisland.com – This is a Vancouver Island farm directory and includes information about what is grown on the island and how to use it, farm tours and events, classifieds and news relating to farming on Vancouver Island .

www.greenpeace.ca – Greenpeace is an “independently funded organisation that works to protect the environment by challenging government and industry to halt harmful practices and presents them with positive options”.  Their website includes information about genetic engineering and related news in Canada .

www.ifoam.org – The website for the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements is a search engine for news and articles relating to the organic movement world-wide.  

www.islandfarmfresh.com – This is an online guide to farms and farm fresh products in Southern Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands.  It includes a directory of farms and maps showing their locations, a produce directory and details of events, festivals, markets and farm tours.

www.lifecyclesproject.ca – Lifecycles is a “non-profit organisation dedicated to cultivating awareness and initiating action around food, health and urban sustainability in the Greater Victoria community”.  The site details their projects, such as community gardens, and how to get involved, and their youth entrepreneurship and educational programs.

www.organicconsumers.org – The US based Organic Consumers Association “promotes food safety, organic farming and sustainable agriculture practices internationally”.  Their website has related articles and current news pieces on subjects such as genetic engineering, irradiation and fair trade.

http://panna.igc.org/resources/panups.html – The Pesticide Action Network of North America works to “replace pesticide use with ecologically and socially just alternatives” and publishes an “international news service covering the latest pesticide research, regulatory and other policy decisions and pesticide-related activism”.

www.ramshorn.bc.ca – The Ram’s Horn is a monthly newsletter giving “information about and an analysis of the whole food system”, it “dissects the dominant system, reporting on the activities and analysing the strategies of transnational agribusiness and governments”.  This website publishes excerpts from the magazine.

www.seeds.ca – Seeds of Diversity Canada is “a living gene bank”.  Member gardeners nation-wide “save seeds from rare and unusual garden plants for the purpose of preserving varieties”.  Explore the world of heirloom varieties on their website and learn about seed-saving, how to take part in their annual seed exchange and other projects they operate.  

www.slowfood.com – Founded in Italy , the Slow Food Movement is an international “movement for the protection of the right to taste”.  Their website includes articles, interview and events celebrating regional cuisine world-wide.

www3.telus.net/permaculture – The website for the Kootenay Permaculture Institute, a centre for research and education in sustainable living, includes articles about permaculture and a calendar of courses offered throughout Canada .  

www.wwoof.org – World-Wide Opportunites on Organic Farms links organic farms to those who would like to volunteer.  On their site find out how the organisation works and how to join.
